Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-10
What pets-only is
pets-only is a platform for pet owners: a swipeable deck for playdates and mating introductions, a social feed, direct messaging, pet care records, rehoming listings, and a marketplace connecting owners with independent pet-care providers (walkers, sitters, groomers and similar). By creating an account or otherwise using pets-only, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service. pets-only is the venue and the tooling. It is not a party to the playdates, matings, adoptions or bookings its tools help arrange, except where a section below says otherwise (payment handling for bookings, in particular).
Who can use pets-only
You must meet the minimum age this deployment sets for consenting to data processing under the GDPR (Art. 8) — see the Privacy Policy for the exact age and how it is checked at sign-up — and be able to form a binding contract under the law that applies to you. Accounts are for individual people; an account you create on behalf of a shelter or business must still be tied to a real person responsible for it.
Your account
You sign in through Google, Apple or Facebook, or with an email and password where that option is offered; either way, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens through your account. Tell us if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You may delete your account at any time from Settings — most of what it holds is removed immediately; a booking you have already been paid for, or paid for, is anonymised rather than deleted, for the reason the Privacy Policy explains under "How long we keep it".
Content you post
You keep ownership of the pet profiles, photos, videos, posts, comments, reviews, listings and messages you create. By posting them, you give pets-only a licence to store, display, resize and transmit that content solely to operate the features you posted it to — a pet photo to whoever your pet's profile is visible to, a message to the other side of that conversation, a feed post to your followers, and so on. We do not sell your content or license it to third parties for their own use. You are responsible for what you post. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share, anything that identifies another person without their consent, or anything that is illegal, harassing, or knowingly false (a health or vetting claim about an animal, in particular). We may remove content or suspend an account that violates this, following the moderation policy and complaint procedure described below.
Moderation and complaints
We moderate content and accounts on the basis of reports from other users. Most decisions — a warning, removing a piece of content, suspending or banning an account — are made by one of our moderators, never by the person the report is about. Two decisions are taken automatically, without a moderator reviewing the individual case: an uploaded photo or video can be scanned for nudity and removed before it is ever shown, and an account reported as underage by two different people is suspended pending review. Every decision that restricts you comes with a written statement of what happened and why, and whether it was automated. If a decision restricted you — a warning, removed content, a suspension or a ban — or if a report you filed was dismissed, you can file a written complaint within 180 days of the decision, using the link the statement was delivered with or by writing to privacy@petsonly.com. A complaint is always reviewed by a moderator who was not involved in the original decision, and we aim to review it within 30 days of it being filed. If a complaint against a suspension or a ban is upheld, the account is reinstated; the original decision stays on record rather than being edited or erased.
Acceptable use
Use pets-only to find playdates, matings, adoptions, care providers and bookings for real pets you own or are responsible for. Do not: create more than one account for yourself; impersonate another person, pet or business; scrape or bulk-download other users’ content or contact details; use the messaging, feed or booking tools to advertise something unrelated to pet care; or attempt to circumvent a block, a moderation decision, or a payment made through the app (arranging payment outside a booking to avoid the fees and protections it carries, in particular).
Bookings and providers
pets-only connects you with an independent provider and does not perform, supervise, or insure the service you're booking. Your provider is an independent contractor, not a pets-only employee or agent — they set their own price and availability, and are responsible for their own licensing, business registration, and insurance. pets-only does not insure this booking, this provider, or your pet; it holds and releases payment and records what happened, and nothing here should be read as a guarantee otherwise.
Rehoming listings
A rehoming listing is created by its owner or shelter, not by pets-only, and pets-only does not verify an animal’s health, temperament or history beyond what the listing itself discloses, nor does it run background or home checks on an applicant. Arranging a safe handover, agreeing terms, and verifying each other is between the lister and the applicant. Report a listing that looks fraudulent or describes an animal being treated unsafely — that is the one case where pets-only acts directly, by removing the listing and, where the report warrants it, suspending the account.
Mating introductions
Enabling mating mode for a pet shows you a separate, specific disclaimer about the risks and responsibilities of breeding before you can turn it on, and records which version of it you accepted — see the Privacy Policy for what is recorded. That disclaimer, not this section, is the operative one for breeding; nothing here overrides it.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, following a report against it — a report is never actioned by the person it names, and the reporting party is told what happened to it once a decision is made. You may stop using pets-only and delete your account at any time, as described above.
Disclaimers and liability
pets-only is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that a match, adoption, provider or booking will meet your expectations, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that another user's claims about their pet or themselves are accurate. To the extent the law allows, pets-only is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service; nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under German law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, or for injury to life, body or health.
Governing law
pets-only is operated from Germany and these Terms are governed by German law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country you live in.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. A change that alters what you are agreeing to moves the version at the top of this document; if you are signed in when that happens, you will be asked to accept the new version before continuing to use pets-only.
